Upcycled Cardigan

Ok, so I loved the look of this pattern (Simplicity 1318) when I saw it in the store, but it took me awhile to find the fabric I wanted to use for it. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and I ended up making this one a thrifted transformation. I wish I would have taken a before photo, but this was actually a curtain that I picked up from the thrift store for about 2 dollars. I just loved the print on it, so I scooped it up. I'll tell you what though, this project made me wish I had a serger! The daggum fabric kept unraveling on me! I tried zigzag stitching along the raw edges to try and finish it off, but it didn't look very pretty.

I did find it odd that the pattern had a seam going up the back like that though instead of having you cut on the fold. The instructions could have been clearer too. The process of making this one wasn't as fun as some of the other projects I've made, but I do love the final result.
